Interesting, I’ve chosen not to have targetted ads, which means I have no access to any of the data they are collecting on me just in case one day I decide to turn the personalization feature back on. I don’t for a second think this means they don’t bother collecting it, particularly when Google’s mission is to “organize the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful.”

Maybe personal privacy is a redundant concept from ‘the good old days’.
